A squad in a crowded situation

Arrowhead’s official Helldivers 2 description introduces squads of up to four players undertaking missions. It explicitly warns about friendly fire while emphasising teamwork and a varied arsenal. The premise makes the space between teammates part of the problem, alongside the threats they face.

Intentions need coordination

Wanting to help does not guarantee that someone else can anticipate your action. A warning, a shared plan or a glance at where a partner has moved can make assistance easier to anticipate. A powerful contribution can create another person’s problem when its timing is unclear.

Agree on how to recover

A group can discuss how it wants to respond when an attempt to help goes wrong. Does it pause to clarify, laugh and continue, or need a quieter moment? Naming that expectation can matter as much as assigning roles.
