Repetition is part of the invitation
Motion Twin describes Dead Cells as a roguelite, metroidvania-inspired action platformer in an ever-changing castle. Its official framing emphasises combat, learning and trying again, without checkpoints. Repetition is stated openly as part of the proposition rather than hidden behind a promise of uninterrupted progress.
Separate the record from the experience
A new attempt can look like a return to the beginning while your understanding has changed. Distinguish the state of a run from the attention you bring to it. Recognising an uncertainty is itself different from encountering it without context. That distinction does not mean every failed attempt must feel productive, or that frustration is something to dismiss.
Ask whether another attempt sounds inviting
Think about your reaction to a game that explicitly asks you to repeat. Does another attempt suggest a fresh experiment, or mainly the loss of work you wanted to keep? Either response is useful when reading the premise.
